The bible describes the Holy Spirit as both the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. "You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him" (Romans 8:9).
Jesus gives us the promise: "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you" (John 14:16).
The indwelling of the Spirit is a fundamental requirement for every disciple to know God and Jesus Christ. This knowing is not just knowing Jesus and having an understanding of the Holy Spirit. It is receiving the Helper that Jesus promised. And this is what the Helper will do. He will make the word a revelation of Jesus Christ and God.
Let us earnestly seek the Holy Spirit to teach us more about God and Jesus Christ!
